Coronavirus (COVID-19): What You Need to know

(Updated March 31)

At Grand View Camp, the safety and well-being of our staff and guests continue to be a top priority. In light of the recent concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are evaluating our health and safety procedures that are already in place and taking additional precautionary steps where needed.

This page is to serve as a resource to help answer questions and concerns you may have regarding Grand View Camp and COVID-19

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Grand View Camp still open to guests?

Due to recommendations (as of March 30) by the Arizona Governor's Office and the Arizona Department of Health Services to "Stay Home and Stay Healthy," Grand View Camp is closed to all visitors until May 1st. We will continue to monitor and follow recommendations from the Arizona Department of Health. Until further notice, the remainder of our spring and summer schedule will continue as planned. We are continuing to monitor this rapidly changing situation and will update here as needed.

Will Summer Programs still be taking place in 2020?

At this point, we have not canceled any summer programs. We are prayerfully looking forward to the upcoming summer season. Our full time staff is working diligently to prepare for the summer season and for Grand View to be full of campers and guests as soon as we are safely able to do that. We are confident that our good and sovereign God will use this season to accomplish His purposes for His glory!

What additional safety measures are you putting in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

We are reiterating and encouraging all staff to do the following:

    • Cover your mouth and nose when you are sneezing and coughing.
    • Wash hands with soap and make hand sanitizer available when hand washing is not possible.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
    • Encouraging staff and guests to stay at home when feeling sick.
    • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

We will continue to monitor and follow recommendations from the Arizona Department of Health as well as monitoring the National Institute of Health, the World Health Organization, and the CDC’s real-time updates on the status of COVID-19

Has anyone at Grand View acquired COVID-19?
No. To the best of our knowledge, no staff members, campers, or guests have acquired COVID-19.

Any other thoughts for us as we plan to attend camp?
We do ask that all potential volunteers and campers be symptom free of fever and respiratory illness for at least twenty-four hours before arriving at camp. Thank you for working with us to ensure the health of our campers, staff, and community. We look forward to seeing you soon.
